"Woe to you when all men speak well of you. For so did their fathers to the false prophets"' Luke 6:26
lt is important to understand that the Lord is dealing with those that think that the things of this world are making them feel like their life is full, instead of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Then Jesus says: "If people are always talking about you as being this great guy, or gal, then you probably aren’t one that is standing up for righteousness, and allowing your convictions to be expressed to others. 2Timothy 3:12 “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
Throughout scripture we see this promise is of God. So you and I should not be surprised when our neighbor, or school-mate, or coworker talk negatively about us, or don’t invite us to their parties. We need to expect that these things will happen, and be excited that we aren’t invited; because people know that we take a stand for God!
Peter 3:16-17 “Having a good conscience; that whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be shamed that falsely accuse your good conduct in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”
